As the Manager, Employee and Benefits Accounting in the Record to Report (R2R) team, you are responsible for ensuring the Employee Benefit plans and transactions are appropriately recorded in the U.S. from an accounting perspective and that the link to the Financial Statements is complete and accurate. The role is also responsible for ensuring that all compliance and regulatory requirements are met concerning P&O accounting in the U.S.

Your additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Build a high-performing organization and drives improvements/standard solutions, while driving a high degree of collaboration.
•Measure and manage the workforce to cultivate a customer service focus culture.
•Sponsor and oversee new initiatives and/or projects, which will drive productivity and efficiency objectives.
•Act as a liaison between Financial Reporting & Accounting (FRA) Operations and HR Compensation & Benefits, Pension and Treasury groups to ensure appropriate actuarial and accounting treatment for benefit plans.
•Review and assess changes to employee benefit plans for potential financial statement impacts.
•Actively participate in service calls between Sandoz and third-party service providers.
•Review SSAE16 reports from third party service providers.
•Review and formally assess, on a quarterly basis, the reasonableness of accrual estimates provided by HR.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $84,000 and $126,000/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related area of study is required. Advanced degree in Accounting and/or Finance is preferred.
•CPA or Chartered Accountant is preferred.
•Advanced Degree in Accounting and/or Finance is preferred.
•Formal continuous improvement training is preferred (i.e., Six Sigma).
•5+ years of financial experience for major company or division of large corporation required.
•Big 4 Audit background preferred
•Demonstrated ability to drive meaningful improvements in performance, quality and efficiency through system and process innovation and effective project management.
•Demonstrated ability to apply IFRS accounting practices within Employee Benefits.
•Expertise in financial reporting and consolidation systems, and strong Excel skills.
•Good people skills, leadership exposure and communication skills.
