Role Purpose

The Senior R2R Senior TechOps Specialist is a leadership position responsible local accounting issues including: a point of contact in-country, select technical accounting, month-end closings, financial reporting, balance sheet review / reconciliations and liaison with internal auditors, external auditors, and Financial Controls.

This role is also responsible for Sandoz IFRS Reporting and Management Reporting: a point of contact for Reporting and Master Data in-country, month-end reporting, financial reporting, reporting review / reconciliations and liaison with intern auditors, external auditors, Financial Controls and Compliance, IT and Master Data.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Manages a diverse team (on/ off-shore) to deliver a high-performing organization and drive improvements/standard solutions, while driving a high degree of collaboration
• Lead record to report process team while cultivating and retaining talent
• A point of contact for record to report matters including month end close process, significant journal entries, and delivery of service levels and key performance indicators (KPI’s) as defined by R2R process
• Prepare/Review monthly cash flow forecast and periodic budget submissions
• Lead month end closing reporting process cross-divisionally ensuring high quality financial statement footnote disclosures, highly accurate management reporting results and refines process for efficiency. Subject Matter Expert for reporting tools
• Close liaison with master data and IT to ensure highly automated and efficient reporting process
• Prepare significant journal entries and account reconciliations
• Ensures adherence to the Financial Control Manual (FCM) and coordination of remediation activities as identified through internal or external reviews
• Direct and indirect management of onsite and offshore R2R team ensuring productivity, quality, and customer-service standards are met
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including senior finance colleagues, both internal and external accounting authorities/auditors, and Division and Group FRA, and ensure timely communication with stakeholders as questions or issues arise
• Review and assess changes to employee benefit plans for potential financial statement impacts.
• Ensure all R2R processes, procedures and policies are clearly defined fully documented and in line with Sandoz global standards

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance. CPA or Chartered Accountant is preferred. Advanced Degree in Accounting and/or Finance is preferred
• Minimum of 5 years’ accounting experience, preferably in Big 4 public accounting, healthcare industry or large corporation with shared service concept
• Experience with financial consolidation and reporting process
• Generic / Sandoz specific experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in accounting and reporting focused roles
• Strong process design experience with demonstrated ability to organize high volume and complexity of activities into streamlined process
• Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS (GAAP), accounting and financial reporting requirements
• Fluent in English both written and spoken
