Sandoz continues women leadership program to build talent pipeline

Holzkirchen, Germany, September 26, 2014 – For the fourth consecutive year, Sandoz held the [email protected] program for top women associates. Eighteen women, representing all Sandoz regions and functions, participated in the three-day event, sponsored by Sandoz Global Head, Richard Francis.

Despite significant advances in educational attainment, women remain underrepresented in corporate leadership roles in most industries.

As we got into the program, I could tell that many of us felt a bit uncomfortable with the idea that because we are women and due to some perception of being disadvantaged, we need a special program. But we quickly realized that it’s not about that, it’s about talent. Regardless of gender, it’s about maximizing potential and enabling all people to be their best,” Michelle Dettman, Head, HR TechOps & Quality (BP&OI) [email protected] participant.
The program content is meant to create intimacy and help participants reflect on who they are as leaders as well as define their aspirations. The goal is that participants leave the event with confidence and a network of peers across all business areas and many countries.
