Basel, September 2, 2014 - Janko Ignjatovic of Serbia has been selected as one of three individual winners of the Novartis International BioCamp held in Basel last week. Mr. Ignjatovic, who studies pharmacy at the University of Belgrade, came to the event through the Regional BioCamp, which took place in June and was organized by Lek, a Sandoz company.
Mr. Ignjatovic proved to be the best at combining a scientific and business solution in his case study at the Regional BioCamp in Slovenia, which is what promoted him to participate in the Novartis BioCamp.
Over 60 selected students from all over the world participated in this prestigious event which was held for the fifth time on the Novartis Campus. The program included a variety of presentations from experts, visits to research institutions, discussions with scientists and a competition to develop a group case study.
On the third day of the program, the groups presented the outcome of their case studies to a jury of experts. Based on their performance, contribution, leadership and team work, the jury chose three individual winners as well as a winning team.
“During BioCamp in Basel, I attended lectures by outstanding professionals from Novartis and I also had the opportunity to learn from expert scientists on a tour of a Novartis biologics facilities. Additionally, the time that I spent with all the participants in the Novartis headquarter was really motivating and inspiring. These four days in Switzerland, along with the extraordinary BioCamp in Ljubljana in June have been the best days in my life,” says Janko.
Janko and his two fellow individual winners were invited by Novartis on a trip to Shanghai, China, where they will get the opportunity to visit the local research facilities of Novartis.
