On November 29, senior leaders representing the Sandoz oncology business and Sandoz Africa organization, met with Ghanaian healthcare stakeholders in the capital city of Accra. Discussions focused on how to improve pediatric oncology in the country; specifically the challenges to effective diagnosis and treatment, and possible solutions. The Ghanaian Ministry of Health, Food & Drug Administration, and various physicians from the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital shared their experiences and opinions.
Also joining the conversation was World Child Cancer Chief Executive Jon Rosser and charity Trustee Prof. Tim Eden. Sandoz supports World Child Cancer’s work in Ghana (as well as in the Philippines, Myanmar, and Mexico) to improve diagnosis and treatment of children with cancer.
The meeting concluded with a commitment from all stakeholders to continue the conversation and work towards improving healthcare for children with cancer in Ghana.
